Video Production advert evaluation

What was it about?

So our project was to create an advert from scratch in our teams from 3 or 4. But our advert had to be freaky or unique.

Our freaky part of our advert would be that our actor would be wearing a horse mask with a suit and would be ending with a dramatic ending.

What did i think of the project?
Well i thought the project was really enjoyable. The most fun part of the advert making was the filming by far, experimenting with different shots and angles and even trying to get into interesting areas to film. I think it worked well as well because we got some really good shots from wide shots, mid shots, close ups and extreme close ups for our advert. What i didn't think went well was as a team trying to express our product and logo in the filming so we had to make a digital logo and place it on the film. But overall i enjoyed the whole creative aspect of creating an advert how ever we like in a freaky or unique way.

How was our time management?
It was well and we thought we had more than enough time but if we was to do this again we would have made the most of this time and created something with a lot of very good shots where we could have made our shots more effective and and better in quality.

What have i learnt in this project?
I have learnt about lots of shots and even learnt how to spot these shots confidently with the right terminology. i have learnt a bit more about editing and creating a skeleton of  my advert. the reason we make a skeleton is to see how our advert flows and see how it works together and it also gives me an insight on what i can edit and take out. I have also learnt about the camera more e.g. white balance before i didn't realize i had to use white balance. It common sense but i also took into mind to take my clips 3 times so i can look back and see which one was better shot.

How did i feel about my advert that i edited with Eden?
I honestly don't think its very good but it was my first time ever using this software so i'll let myself of this time. What i did like was the shot i taken i was impressed my favorite shot was the one where i shot the actor between an entrance creating a leading lines and focusing the actor in the middle in which we then zoomed into the face to create a dramatic feel to the film.
What i didnt like? Firstly i didnt feel my advert felt like an advert i think we didnt express what we was selling very well, our logo was not showcased through out the film on the actor which if i was to do again i would change and would have resolved that issue and stuck the logo on the suit or actor. What else i didnt like was the final aspect which was uploaded on youtube was that i felt the audio we used was not the right tempo or didnt have the right diagetic sound influenced into it making my advert feel weird and not finished to the best standard. Also if we had previous history and knowledge of the software we would have easily made the ending to the standard we wanted but maybe next time we will.
