Video Production advert evaluation
What was it about?
So our project was to create an advert from scratch in our teams from 3 or 4. But our advert had to be freaky or unique.
Our freaky part of our advert would be that our actor would be wearing a horse mask with a suit and would be ending with a dramatic ending.
What did i think of the project?
Well i thought the project was really enjoyable. The most fun part of the advert making was the filming by far, experimenting with different shots and angles and even trying to get into interesting areas to film. I think it worked well as well because we got some really good shots from wide shots, mid shots, close ups and extreme close ups for our advert. What i didn't think went well was as a team trying to express our product and logo in the filming so we had to make a digital logo and place it on the film. But overall i enjoyed the whole creative aspect of creating an advert how ever we like in a freaky or unique way.
How was our time management?
It was well and we thought we had more than enough time but if we was to do this again we would have made the most of this time and created something with a lot of very good shots where we could have made our shots more effective and and better in quality.
What have i learnt in this project?
I have learnt about lots of shots and even learnt how to spot these shots confidently with the right terminology. i have learnt a bit more about editing and creating a skeleton of my advert. the reason we make a skeleton is to see how our advert flows and see how it works together and it also gives me an insight on what i can edit and take out. I have also learnt about the camera more e.g. white balance before i didn't realize i had to use white balance. It common sense but i also took into mind to take my clips 3 times so i can look back and see which one was better shot.
How did i feel about my advert that i edited with Eden?
I honestly don't think its very good but it was my first time ever using this software so i'll let myself of this time. What i did like was the shot i taken i was impressed my favorite shot was the one where i shot the actor between an entrance creating a leading lines and focusing the actor in the middle in which we then zoomed into the face to create a dramatic feel to the film.
What i didnt like? Firstly i didnt feel my advert felt like an advert i think we didnt express what we was selling very well, our logo was not showcased through out the film on the actor which if i was to do again i would change and would have resolved that issue and stuck the logo on the suit or actor. What else i didnt like was the final aspect which was uploaded on youtube was that i felt the audio we used was not the right tempo or didnt have the right diagetic sound influenced into it making my advert feel weird and not finished to the best standard. Also if we had previous history and knowledge of the software we would have easily made the ending to the standard we wanted but maybe next time we will.

Photography evaluation
our assignment was to create a montage of freaky images by merging them all into one amd have research to back it up.

Because i missed the lesson i was not able to do this to the best of my ability and my work ended up being rushed and looked scruffy and i found this annoying that my work ended up like this because there was nothing i could do to attend this lesson. But i intended to make the image above using my own captured images by taking and image of an eye and also a pair of hands then i would erase the white background and place the images on top of each other creating the image above. With the lack of time i had i couldn't edit the hands and bring them together so that they would actually be looking like they are holding the eye itself. but instead i had to improvise and just place the hands on top and just leave it as that and if i had the time i would have done that and also made a few more images that i was inspired by. But i know next time this wont ever happen again and i will do all my next pieces to my full 100% potential.

But i know next time this wont ever happen again and i will do all my next pieces to my full 100% potential.
But this was created using photoshop. i used the eraser tool to mark of the edges but as you can see its rushed and has sharp edges from where the background is breaking through. i was not happy with this and if i had more time i would have took better images and also gave it a fine finish in photoshop and spent more time taking care.
Also you can see i was inspired by the image above of the eye and the hand holding the eye because i really liked how unique this image is.
I intended to create a freaky image that i was inspired by and so i did. If i was here i would have intended to create more better and clear images because i feel that this is not up to my standard at all.
When taking these images i had to move into another room so it could be a bit lighter. also i was a bit shaky while taking the shot on the eye so it came out blurry and to resolve this issue if i was to do this again i would have used the tripod to hold the camera steady.
What have i learned about this assignment?
i have learnt a lot about the camera. while i was taking these images i had the camera set to close-up mode so that i could take the shot on the eyes. I learnt about aputure, program, speed and manual which all differentiate from each other manipulating the camera in lots of ways which help create a range of different types of shots. i could take a picture of the same image multiple times but have a different setting for each one and make that single same image different just from editing the setting in the camera.
If i was to do this again i would try and come into college so i wont miss out on what i had to do while i was away. Also if i had more time i definitely would have took my time and would have made my work a lot neater and smoother.
Firstly me and Eden chose the best shot and placed them in the storyboard order. then got asked to make a skeleton to see how our advert would flow. We made our advert and decided that we needed to speed up our starter shot. We did this by pressing on a clip then clicking on clip in the top left then selecting speed/duration. We then experimented with different speeds until we finally chose to change the speed from 100% to 200% which will increase the speed of the clip.
I really struggled with this as i'm completely new to the software
Next we decided to speed up the ending area where our actor turns his neck around really fast then i would get a close up shot of his face while in the horse mask as this will be a freaky.
Finally we put the advert i had made with this and put it on the end which is also the pink bar at the end of the the whole advert.
Also i didn't help that my partner did nothing to help me with this and left me doing all the work because she didn't know what to do as much as me. I was thinking about making the whole advert black and white but in the end we decided not to because it was getting affected with some of the shots being darker than others.
Memory check
Q1. What is ISO and what does it effect? the amount of light the camera lets in to show more definition and detail.
Q2. When would we use the ‘P’ control
setting on the camera mode dial. shows what apature and shutter speed the camera has set for you.
Q3. Name two
important consideration when attaching the tripod baseplate to the bottom of
camera? base plate only goes on 1 way round. that it is screwed on tightly and the lever on the side is closed tightly.
Q4. Name three
important considerations when using a red-head lighting kit? dont touch the bulb. let it cooldown because when its hot the bulb is softer and will break more easily.
Q5. When focusing the camera, what do we
place on the object/subject to ensure it is the center of focus?a little green retangle will show up once you have held down the shutter button halfway.
Q6. Name two techniques we can use to
adjust the brightness and contrast of a photograph? change the aputure. The shutter speed and controlling the ISO

Well i did this unique print advert with a few simple images from the internet and an primary image of mine which was the army tanks and building and barb wiring. So i got a thought in my head that this would be great for an recruitment advert to bring in more volunteers to be troops. so i did i wanted to create a bold and eye catching advert that would grasp your eyes attention at first glance and an easy way to start off was to have huge demanding lettering almost shouting at you "ATTENTION!" which also relates to army language. Also to make my lettering stand out even more i added a black background to make the lettering stand even more out because the aim of my advert is to attract attention because that is what the priority is for a advert.
What would i do if i was to do this again?
I would take better images of the props and also get better props. Also i would have tried to get my own dirt mark from taking and image of possibly brown paint splashed across paper then i could place it on my work and erase the background with he magic eraser. Also i could have drawn and scanned my drawings in of my own army logo and create my own flag and make this a lot more original.
I am happy with what i have come out with because it does what i wanted it to do and that was grab attention and i accoplished that with the bold text and the use of colours that stand out on the dark background.
Libary Introduction
Firstly the libary is on D floor and has 3 sections and colored and non colored printers (CMFD and MFD) in the center there is a reception for signing books to take them home. on the left side is a row of book shelves packed with book from educational to fantasy. There are computers and an CMFD printer on the left side. The right side has yet more computers but less books than the left and in here is an MFD printer. You can access the libary at any time during open hours so you can study as much a you want in a quite area.

Tempo How fast it is
Key The range if notes used in this song
Major Keys Tend to sound happy
Minor Keys Tend to sound sad
Diegetic Sound. Voices of the character
Non Diegetic Narraters.
Car Advert
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1ceAFeT-7s
as the car is letting out the other car like its giving birth the tempo of the music increases and and the notes become higher. It goes from a minor key being sad at first to being happy by using major keys. There are also loud car noises in the background to make it sound more dramatic and intense.
sofa advert
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4A4rKYR8qI
it has a moderate tempo and has a touch of relaxation to it as the women puts her feet up and it had a consistent tempo witht the use of minor and major keys.
Makeup advert
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-HCU1wogpY
It has a kinda vintage feel with the slow music almost as if its trying to be sexy. The music also start to build up more and more as the women walks out into the crowd.
ADS i like:
Lloyds Bank
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6eZ3WQCjhA
I like the suttle tempo and how the music is sad but cheerful at the same time as it links with the banks logo of a horse they also have the music relating to the horse in the background. they also have an non diegetic sound in the back with guy narrating over the video. It has a heart warming feeling to it as the video plays.
Tennis advert
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rMrkyMn-sY
I like the music because its sharp and basic and also catchy. It also has an non diegetic sound as a women narrates over the advert. It gets dramatic as the guy hits the ball the music beat drops as he hits the ball.
